DESCRIPTION: Creates a patch file to be used to upgrade the
Appliance Server Operating System to version 1.9 from all previous
versions. SoftPaq includes readme files with step by step
instructions to perform the upgrade.
Enhancements/Fixes:
From version 1.1 to 1.2:
- Fixes problem with restored files not being truncated
correctly when smaller files are restored over larger files.
- Adds ability to view the server Update Log which shows
date and times OS upgrades have been applied.
From version 1.2 to 1.6:
- Adds Italian and Dutch support.
From version 1.6 to 1.8:
- Fixes problem for Windows 2000 reporting incorrect network
share drive sizing
- Fixes problem with non-Class C manual networking
- Fixes problem of intermittent disappearing buttons in the
Control Center when using a Netscape browser
- Fixes a problem with backup process: if a backup is run
without the (optional) expansion drive present, any prior
backups from an expansion drive would be deleted.
- Fixes problems with corrupted file system due to an improper
shutdown or unexpected power outages.
From version 1.8 to 1.9:
- Fixes problem with modem dial-out hanging and
failing to make a connection to a remote server.
This problem occurs most often during execution
of the Test Internet Connection applet.
HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to c:\ and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based on
the SoftPaq Number above.
2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. The patch and readme files will
created in the c:\ directory.
3. After the patch has been created, you may delete the
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.
4. For installation instructions, refer to the text file in c:\sp13058.
