DESCRIPTION: The Options ROMPaq diskettes allow a user to
upgrade the ROM Firmware images for Compaq System Product Options. The
Options ROMPaq consists of twelve (12) diskettes:

the Compaq SMART-2 Family, SMART Array 3100ES,
3200, 221, 4200, 4250ES and Integrated SMART
Array Controllers.

recreate each array volume with the original configuration or
upgrade the RA4X00 controllers back to the previous firmware
revision. Failure to do so may result in the loss of data.

KNOWN ISSUES:
HOW TO USE:
1. Obtain twelve (12) formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.
2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to
insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes.
4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.
5. The Options ROMPaq diskettes are self-booting diskettes. Place each
ROMPaq diskette into your drive A: diskette drive and power cycle your
system to begin updating the appropriate components.
