DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq is for Japanese products, and cannot be run
in United States mode. It creates seven diskettes.
The NSSD diskettes contain NetWare and intraNetWare drivers, NetWare
Loadable Modules (NLMs), and support information to optimize the
performance of NetWare and IntranetWare on Compaq servers.
This software enhances the performance of Compaq options such as Compaq
Drive Array controllers, Compaq 32-Bit SCSI-2 controllers, and Compaq
CD-ROM drives.

Enhancements/Fixes:

This release of the Support Software for Novell Products (NSSD) primarily
supports the following new products:

   - Compaq ProLiant DL380
   - Compaq ProLiant ML350
   - Compaq ProLiant ML370
   - Compaq ProLiant ML530
   - Compaq Smart Array 431 Controller
   - Compaq StorageWorks 64-Bit/66-Mhz Fibre Host Bus Adapter
   - Integrated Dual Channel Wide-Ultra2 SCSI Adapter

The following Compaq drivers were updated:

   CPQARRAY.HAM v2.06 - NSSD 5.40A
   - Added support for the Compaq Smart Array 431 Controller.

   CPQFC.HAM v2.20 - NSSD 5.40A
   - Added support for the Compaq StorageWorks 64-Bit/66-Mhz Fibre
      Host Bus Adapter.

   CPQHLTH.NLM v4.30 - NSSD 5.40A
   - Added support for the following new servers:
      *  Compaq ProLiant DL380
      *  Compaq ProLiant ML370
   - Updated fan failure reporting to Compaq Insight Manager for the
      Compaq ProLiant 7000 server.

   CPQIML.NLM v1.06 - NSSD 5.40
   - Added Novell Directory Services (NDS) login capability.
   - Added a basic Help screen to explain the Test Internet Connection
      results.

   CPQMPK.PSM v.3.14 - NSSD 5.40
   - Resynchronized with Novell PSM.
   - Modified CPQMPK.PSM to a prevent page fault if the PSM is prematurely
unloaded either by the Operating System (OS) or incomplete
      initialization.
   - Added an enhancement to further validate the MPS table contents,
skipping processors with an invalid local APIC ID value.
   - Modified CPQMPK.PSM to prevent lockups if APIC messages were to be
      sent to nonexistant targets.
   - Added an enhancement to verify the existence of local APICs on
      processors before accessing them.
   - Modified CPQMPK.PSM to prevent lockups due to unexpected ISA
(edge triggered) interrupts taken during a real mode transiton. This
modification prevents the loss of an edge-triggered interrupt that
could cause a device to slow down or hang.
   - Added an enhancement that enables virtual wire mode for core dumps
and prevents multiple simultaneous virtual wire mode routes which
could cause hangs during core dumps.
   - Added an enhancement that restores the PIC state when quitting the OS
      from within the debugger.
   - Added an enhancement that sets processor task priority registers once
to create a priority "ladder" that urges MP-enabled interrupts away from
P0 unless all other processors are in service. P1 will tend to be the
most busy processor servicing MP-enabled interrupts, followed by
P2, P3, etc. P0 will still service MP-enabled interrupts but on a less
      frequent basis.
   - Added a fix so that the system will detect all hardware faults.

   CPQONLIN.NLM v2.43 - NSSD 5.40A
   - Added support for the following new products:
      * Compaq Smart Array 431 Controller
      * Compaq StorageWorks 64-Bit/66-Mhz Fibre Host Bus Adapter

   CPQPOWER.NLM v1.04 - NSSD 5.40
   - Modified the utility's behavior when the user abandons any changes
made to the Power Down mode in the Power Down Manager window by
pressing ESC and responding Y. In previous versions, the utility
would not restore the "X" to the correct location corresponding
to the original setting before the attempted change.
   - Modified messages for consistency and accuracy.
   - Disabled the F2 menu activation key.
   - Changed the refresh function from a menu item to a hot key using F3.
Added F3 hot key refresh to all data windows, including the dumb power
      supply screens.
   - Changed the F1 key-invoked Help text to match the functionality changes
      on all windows changed.

   CPQSBD.NLM v2.18 - NSSD 5.40
   - Modified the -DETECT option to report that the driver supports PCI
hot plug on the Compaq ProLiant 6500.

   CPQSCSI.HAM v1.39 - NSSD 5.40A
   - Fixed a CPUHog ABEND issue that occurs on the Compaq ProLiant CL1850
      during heavy network traffic.
   - Fixed spurious interrupts with Compaq Smart Array controllers during
      transition to real mode.

HOW TO USE

1. Obtain seven (7) formatted 1.44 MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to
insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes.

4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. For installation instructions, refer to READ1ST.RDM and WHATSNEW.RDM
on the created diskettes.
