SYSTEM CONFIGURATION:  Any Compaq server running Windows NT 3.51 and Insight Management Agents or Insight Manager.

DESCRIPTION:  Both the Compaq Insight Management Agents for Windows NT and Compaq Insight Manager will cause multiple SNMP even log entries when running on Microsoft Windows NT 3.51.  The MGMTAPI.DLL that ships with Windows NT 3.51 contains debug events that get entered into the System Event Log whenever a process or thread loads/unloads MGMTAPI.DLL.  This version removes those messages.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1260.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1260 [ENTER]
The following files will be created:
README.TXT
MGMTAPI.DLL 

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1260.EXE if you wish.

4. Rename the existing copy of MGMTAPI.DLL on the Windows NT 3.51 server.
     REN %SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32\MGMTAPI.DLL   MGMTAPI.BAK

5. Copy the new MGMTAPI.DLL in its place.
     COPY MGMTAPI.DLL   %SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32

6. Shutdown and restart the server.
