DESCRIPTION:  In order to perform a new installation of SCO XENIX on COMPAQ ProSignia VS or COMPAQ ProSignia 500, boot support for the NCR 53C710 and NCR 53C810 Fast SCSI-2 controllers is required.  A utility called "cpqinstall" is provided for creating a patched N1 boot diskette intended to allow users to perform first time installations of SCO XENIX System V 2.3.4 with the primary hard drive attached to the integrated SCSI controller.  Once the N1 diskette has been patched, SCO XENIX System V 2.3.4 can be installed in the normal fashion.

- Support for Compaq 330MB, 500MB, and 1GB Fast SCSI-2 hard drives.

- User interface for configuration of additional hard drives.

- Man Pages facility for all user interfaces.
- Xenix "custom" facility provided for installation.
- Improved performance.

PROBLEMS FIXED:  
- Problems found in the installation of Xenix 2.3.4 on a Compaq 330 MB SCSI-2 disk drive have been fixed.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1258.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1258 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
C710C810._01
QRST5.EXE
INSTALL.TXT
README.TXT
SP1258.DOC

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1258.EXE if you wish.

5.  To create the diskette and install the software, refer to SP1258.DOC and INSTALL.TXT.
