DESCRIPTION: This will create the Compaq PCMCIA Support Diskette Version 3.12.  Portable Computer Setup for Windows Version 3.00 (SP1246) is used in conjunction with these updated PCMCIA Drivers. 

UPDATES:
Hibernation and Standby
- Avoids lockup when going into Hibernation with New Media modems and Berg SRAM PC card.
- Avoids lockup when returning from Standby with MODEM and SRAM present.
- Corrects system lockup when exiting Standby with TDK modems.
- Allows ATA cards to work after returning from Standby or Hibernation.

Card Specific
- Eliminates EMS conflict with ATA cards when RAM switch is used in EMM386.

General
- Upgraded Card and Socket services to CardSoft version 3.12 (supports PCMCIA v2.1).
- Allows file transfers between PCMCIA modems and drive A:.

Enhancement
  Increased memory available, enhancing overall system performance.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain one formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1250.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1250 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1250.EXE if you wish.

5.  Insert the diskette into the A: drive.  From TabWorks or File Manager, select File, Run....

6.  In the Command Line, type:  A:\INSTALL [ENTER]
