DESCRIPTION:  Unpacks files needed to install the Intel Pro 100+ NIC drivers
in the Prosignia computers listed above.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename 
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
Entering "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory 
folder in the download directory.  All files are unpacked into this 
newly created directory.

All Intel NICs must first be uninstalled before updating with new
drivers. Step 3 provides the procedure to uninstall the drivers.

3. After the directory has been created, execute the uninstall
utility, 8255xdel.exe. Follow screen prompts until the process
is complete.

4. Restart system. 

5. During the boot the Intel Pro 100+ NIC will be recognized by Plug and Play
and the Add New Hardware Wizard appears. Click NEXT.

6. Select Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location. Click NEXT.

7. The Select Device Windows appears. Click HAVE DISK.

8. Select Drive where directory created in step 2 was created.

9. Select directory where the Softpaq files reside.

10. Click Browse and select NET82557.INF as the filename. Click OK.

11. The Install From Disk window will reappear. Click OK.

12. In the Select Device dialog choose Intel(R) PRO/100+ Management
Adapter with Alert On Lan*. Click OK.

13. Click NEXT to continue intall.

If the message "Please insertthe disk labeled 'Intel PRO Adapter
CD-ROM or floppy disk', and then click OK" appears, click OK.

If prompted for the file "e100b.cat", select the drive and
directory where the softpaq files reside then click OK.

14. If prompted with a Version Conflict dialog click the YES button
to keep the newer version of the file in question.

15. If prompted for the Windows 98 CD click OK. Type 
c:\windows\options\cabs in the Copy file text box. Click OK.

16. Click FINISH to complete the installation.

17. Click YES to restart the system from the System Settings
Change window.
