DESCRIPTION: This Softpaq creates a bootable diskette to resolve an issue
where any Compaq computer containing a Quantum Fireball CR IDE hard drive
and running IBM OS/2 Warp 4.0 may have timing problems that cause the
system to lock up.

If the utility on this diskette detects a Quantum Fireball CR IDE hard drive
with this problem, it updates the firmware of the hard drive. If an affected
hard drive is not detected, the utility does nothing.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your
hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable
with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
One bootable diskette will be created.

3. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file
downloaded in step 1.

4. To run this utility, insert the diskette in drive A: and restart the computer,
allowing it to boot from the diskette and run the utility automatically.
After the computer runs the utility and returns a prompt to the screen,
follow the instructions to remove the diskette and shut down the computer.
The next time the computer is turned on, the new hard drive firmware will be in effect.
