DESCRIPTION:  The Compaq Insight Management Agents for Windows NT Version 2.40B corrects a potential problem with NT Insight Agents generating new SNMP traps based on old events.   The problem occurs when the Windows NT System Event Log is set to overwrite events and the System Event Log is full.  In this situation, the Insight Agents incorrectly determine the current position in the event log.

HOW TO USE:  

1.  Obtain 1 formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1190.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1190 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the CIM Agents for Windows NT diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1190.EXE if you wish.

5.  Insert the diskette in the A: drive and from the NT File Manager type:
     a:setup

6.  Follow on-screen directions and refer to online help for information on updating the Insight Agents.
