DESCRIPTION: Under certain heavy load conditions, a Compaq Gigabit Ethernet 
NIC can cause a parity error on the PCI Bus, resulting in a blue screen error in
Windows NT 4.0.  This error results in a message telling the customer to contact 
the hardware manufacturer.  The replacement driver contained in this SoftPaq
corrects the problem.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
   to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an self-extracting
   executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
   and follow the on-screen instructions.  Enter "Y" to confirm
   the unpacking of files into the downloaded directory.

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the
   SoftPaq file downloaded in step 1.

4. Replace the N1000NT4.SYS file located in \%system%\system32\drivers with
   the N1000NT4.SYS included in the Softpaq. A system reboot will be
   necessary in order for the changes to take effect.

5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the files
   unpacked in step 2.
