DESCRIPTION:  The Options ROMPaq diskettes allow a user to
upgrade the ROM Firmware images for Compaq System Product Options.  The
Options ROMPaq consists of ten (10) diskettes:

	Disk 1 - Options ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 the Compaq SMART-2 Family, SMART Array 3100ES,
		 3200, 221, 4200, 4250ES and Integrated SMART
		 Array Controllers.

	Disk 2 - Options ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 3 - Options ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 4 - Options ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 5 - Options ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 6 - Options ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for

	firmware from Compaq.  Obtain SP8050 for Legacy Tape Drives.

* NOTE: This Option ROMPaq does not contain firmware images for the 
        Compaq SMART Controller. Obtain SoftPaq SP8050 to get firmware
        for this controller.


Enhancements/Fixes:

-       Support 64-bit Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter.

-       Upgrade RA4000/RA4100  F/W, v2.40 -> v2.48 
                Corrects false "General Power Supply Failure" messages.

-       Upgrade SMART-2 Family, Smart Array 221, 3100ES and 3200 controller
          F/W, v4.16 -> v4.26.
		Fixed problem with some server models rebooting continuously, 
                displaying "Reconfiguring I2C NVRAM" POST message, when SA3200,
                >2GB of RAM, and any other Compaq SMART-2 family Array Controller
                or SA32000 is also installed.  

-       Upgrade Integrated Smart Array Controller F/W, v1.34 -> v1.40
                

-       Recognize the following Universal drives as Compaq devices, but 
          indicate that no newer firmware is available with this release:
          BB00912301, BB018122B7,BD009122C6, BD018122C9,BB00911CA0, BB01811C9C

-       Modify the controller discovery mechanism in CPQEXT.OPT and CPQINT.OPT
          to look for EISA devices only when an EISA bus is present.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain ten (10) formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes.

4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. The Options ROMPaq diskettes are self-booting diskettes.  Place each
ROMPaq diskette into your drive A: diskette drive and power cycle your
system to begin updating the appropriate components.
