DESCRIPTION: 
This SoftPaq unpacks the files required to install the Compaq
DAT Tape Driver.  The driver supports the SDT7000, SDT9000 and TSL9000
Tape devices under Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.


HOW TO USE:

Installing the driver for SDT7000, SDT9000 and TSL9000 DAT tape drives:

  ***********************************************************************

1.  Shutdown Windows NT 4.0 if it is running and power down the system.

2.  Connect the tape drives to the system.  Ensure the SCSI bus is
    terminated correctly and that there are no target ID conflicts.

3.  Startup the system and log into Windows NT.

4.  From the "Start" menu, bring up the Windows NT control panel.

5.  Double-click the "Tape Devices" applet (icon). The system scans for
    installed tape devices.

6.  The "Tape Devices" dialog box is displayed.  All tape devices are shown.
    If the "Tape Devices" dialog Box indicates any tape drive drivers are
    installed, you must remove them.  Click on the "DRIVERS"
    Tab.  Highlight the DAT tape drivers and select "Remove".  When all
    DAT tape drivers have been removed, select "Add".

7.  Click on "Have Disk" in the "Install Driver" dialog box.  The "Install
    From Disk" dialog box is displayed.

8.  Type the drive and path where the Compaq DAT Tape drivers were
    download, then click on OK.

9.  Select  "Compaq DDS Tape Drive or Autoloader", then click on OK.
  
10. Click on OK in the New SCSI Tape Devices Found dialog box.

11. Type the drive and path for the disk you are using that contains the
    driver in the Window NT Setup dialog box, then click on Continue.

12. After the files are copied, you will need to reboot the system.  The
    driver will be installed on the machine.

13. After rebooting, ensure the driver is installed by checking the Tape
    Devices in the control panel.
