DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq is for Japanese products, and cannot be run
in United States mode. It creates six diskettes.
The NSSD diskettes contain NetWare and intraNetWare drivers, NetWare
Loadable Modules (NLMs), and support information to optimize the
performance of NetWare and IntranetWare on Compaq servers.
This software enhances the performance of Compaq options such as Compaq
Drive Array controllers, Compaq 32-Bit SCSI-2 controllers, and Compaq
CD-ROM drives.

Enhancements/Fixes:

This release of the Support Software for Novell Products (NSSD) primarily
supports the following new products:
  - Compaq ProLiant 8500
  - Compaq ProLiant 6400R/550
  - Compaq Smart Array 4200 Controller
  - Compaq Integrated Smart Array Controller
  - Compaq StorageWorks Enclosure 4200
  - Compaq StorageWorks RAID Array 4000 Redundant Array Controller (RA4000)
  - NC3123 PCI 10/100 TX WOL Fast Ethernet NIC
  - Updates to Support for IBM Token-Ring NICs

The following Compaq drivers were updated:
  - Compaq NSSD Installation Utility
     CPQNSSU.NLM v1.46
     - Adds support for detection of different versions of NetWare for Small
Business, and recommendation of appropriate Novell Support Packs.

  - Compaq SMARTArray Controller Host Adapter Module
     CPQARRAY.HAM v2.01
     - Adds Support for the Compaq Smart Array 4200 Controller
     - Adds Support for the Compaq Integrated Smart Array Controller
     - Driver now detects RAID level change on configuration change and
changes fault tolerance level in device name.
     - Added better support for IML logging controller failures and
       redundancy loss.

  - Compaq Fibre Channel Storage Host Adapter Module
     CPQFC.HAM v2.01
     - Adds support for Compaq StorageWorks RAID Array 4000 Redundant Array
       Controller (RA4000).
     - The driver now automatically detects when multiple paths exist from
the server to devices in the RA4000 subsystem. It will automatically
failover to a standby path in the event that the active path fails or
becomes unstable. The driver also automatically switches back to the
original path when it detects that the problem has been corrected
NOTE: Firmware v2.36 or greater is required to support new features
           found in CPQFC.HAM version 2.00

  - Compaq SCSI Controller Host Adapter Module
     CPQSCSI.HAM v1.35
     - Added multi-initiator support

       Controller (RA4000).
     - Add support for tape devices
     - Added ability to display a configuration for a controller even if that
       controller has no physical drives.

  - Compaq Server Health Utility
     CPQHLTH.NLM v4.10 - NSSD 5.10
     - Adds Support for the Compaq ProLiant 8500
     - Fixed an error where an initialization message was being incorrectly
output to the console indicating that the Advanced Server Recovery,
ASR, feature was enabled even though the command line option to disable
ASR, -DASR, had been used. Products affected are all ProSignia and
       ProLiant servers that support ASR.
     - Fixed an error where the Intelligent Power Down Manager feature
available on PL-6000, PL-6500, and PL-7000 models was not working
correctly. When the shutdown delay time expired, these servers did not
       shutdown.
     - Fixed an error where on PL-7000 models when fan #2 failed and was then
removed from the system a message was being incorrectly output to the
console indicating that the server would shutdown.
     - Fixed an error where MCA error monitoring was only being done on the
bootstrap CPU in a multi-processor system under the NetWare 5 in
multi-processor mode. Products affected are all ProSignia and ProLiant
multi-processor servers running NetWare 5 in multi-processor mode.

      configured in CPQPOWER.NLM

  - Compaq System Bus Driver for PCI Hot Plug
     CPQSBD.NLM v2.16 - NSSD 5.10

     - CPQSHD.CDM and CPQSHD.DDI were moved from \SCSI to \NWPA.
     - SCSIHD.CDM and SCSIHD.DDI were moved from \SCSI\3x_4x to \NWPA\3x
and a duplicate copy placed in \NWPA\4x.
     - CPQFC.HAM and CPQFC.DDI were moved from \FIBRE to \NWPA.
     - CPQARRAY.HAM and CPQARRAY.DDI were moved from \DRV_ARRY to \NWPA

The following changes were made only to the diskette-based format of NSSD:
  - A seventh (7th) diskette was created, and named "Legacy Storage Support"
  - All DDFS storage drivers (those under the \DSK directory) were moved to
    diskette seven.

HOW TO USE

1. Obtain seven (7) formatted 1.44 MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to
insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes.

4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. For installation instructions, refer to READ1ST.RDM and WHATSNEW.RDM
on the created diskettes.
