DESCRIPTION:
Insight Manager LC -- Combined Client provides an integrated utility that installs the software required on a client PC to support the full capabilities of Insight Manager LC.  These capabilities include viewing system information, receiving fault alerts, changing security settings, running diagnostics tests remotely, and updating BIOS and hardware device drivers.

The Combined Client SoftPaq includes:

ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES: 
*Changes to Insight Manager LC Combined Client 1.01C:

ENHANCEMENT:  Insight Manager LC Combined Client is now SSM compatible.  Note:  Although compatible with SSM, this Softpaq does not support deployment using the software update capability of Insight Manager LC.

ENHANCEMENT:  If a Softpaq did not complete installation within a pre-defined maximum time, the installation process was assumed to be hung and therefore terminated.  This release increases the pre-defined timeout value from 1.5 minutes to 15 minutes.  This increase is needed to accommodate the installation of large Softpaqs.  In addition, a registry key has been defined to override the pre-defined timeout value.  The key 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Compaq\SSM\ExecutionTimeout is the number of milliseconds which can elapse before installation will be terminated (1000 milliseconds= 1 second).  For example, the default of 900000 is equivalent to 15 minutes.

CORRECTS:  Intermittently, DMI did not initialize correctly and caused the system to be unmanageable via DMI.

CORRECTS:  Insight Manager icon disappeared after logoff/login on NT4.

CORRECTS:  Security Settings showed unsupported options on the Deskpro 2000 model.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting
file downloaded in step 1.

4. To install, read and follow the instructions provided with the software.

5. To create (optional) installation (or other deliverable) diskette(s) 
run MAKEDISK.BAT and follow the on-screen instructions. 
MAKEDISK.BAT is included only if installation diskette(s) creation is an option.

6. After the installation is completed, you may delete the directory
created in step 2 if you wish.
