DESCRIPTION:
System Software Manager (SSM) is a utility that supports unattended 
upgrade/installation of drivers, system agents, and system ROM on multiple
PCs simultaneously from a centralized file store without implementing a 
software distribution infrastructure


ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES: 
*Improved handling of duplicate deliverables and correctly identifying 
CVAs with no deliverable ID.
*Corrected a failure caused when SSM attempts to create its temporary 
directory and a file of the same name already exists.
*Modified the database query to check both system ID and device 
information to insure that only applicable updates are applied to a 
system.
*Corrected inaccurate translations and dialog box sizes on Japanese SSM.
*Updated driver detection to prevent system lockups during plug and play 
detection on multiprocessor workstations.
*Modified database code to fix memory leaks and to support Insight Manager
LC database structure.
*Updated the detection drivers to prevent system lockups and blue screens 
during plug and play detection on desktops and workstations.


HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting
file downloaded in step 1.

4. To install, read and follow the instructions provided with the software.

5. To create (optional) installation (or other deliverable) diskette(s) 
run MAKEDISK.BAT and follow the on-screen instructions. 
MAKEDISK.BAT is included only if installation diskette(s) creation is an option.

6. After the installation is completed, you may delete the directory
created in step 2 if you wish.
