DESCRIPTION: The Compaq Floating Point Detection Software for DOS is a program to allow customers to determine whether their Intel Pentium processor contains a floating point flaw.

HOW TO USE:

1.  After downloading the SoftPaq, copy it to an empty directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  If downloaded in zipped format (.ZIP), unzip the file to create an executable:  PKUNZIP SP1088

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file to unbind the primary files:  SP1088 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:

   CHECKIT.EXE
   AUTOEXEC.CHK
   CHECKIT.DOC

3. Obtain one (1) formatted 1.44 MB bootable diskette.  (FORMAT A: /S)

4.  To check your Pentium Processor, copy the above files to your bootable diskette, reboot your machine with the diskette in drive A: and read the pass or fail message on your screen.  Refer to CHECKIT.DOC for help (print or display CHECKIT.DOC with a proportional font such as Courier in order for the examples of the screen messages to print properly) .
