DESCRIPTION: Creates a ROMPaq diskette that allows a user to update the
System ROM in a Compaq Professional Workstation AP200 to the 07/02/99 version.
The diskette also contains foreign language modules that can be used to
flash foreign language strings into the system ROM for use in F10 Setup.

Enhancements/Fixes:

- Added new microcode patches for Pentium III processors.
- Corrects a condition that was causing lockups during warm boots when faster
  processors are being used.
- Corrects a condition that was causing some option ROM's to be loaded twice
  upon startup.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle
system power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions to flash the System ROM.

WARNING: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER
DURING THE SYSTEM ROM FLASH PROCESS!!!!

Flash Recovery Instructions (in case of system ROM corruption):

1) Power down the computer to be flashed.

2) Insert the ROMPaq diskette into the floppy drive and power up
the computer. If the system ROM is corrupt the computer will beep and
   no video will be seen.

3) If the flash diskette is bad or no diskette is installed, the NUM LOCK
keyboard LED will turn ON. The CAPS LOCK and SCROLL LOCK keyboard LEDs
   will be OFF.

4) If the computer has a setup password set, the CAPS LOCK keyboard LED will
be ON. The NUM LOCK and SCROLL LOCK keyboard LEDs will be OFF. Please
enter your setup password at this time.

5) The ROMPaq diskette will boot and begin the flash process. Do not
turn off the computer until the flash is completed.

6) If the flash is SUCCESSFUL, the NUM LOCK, CAPS LOCK, and SCROLL LOCK
keyboard LEDs will be turned ON. Also, the computer will play a series of
rising tones at the end of a good flash. Remove the ROMPaq diskette
   and cycle power.

If the flash FAILS, the SCROLL LOCK LED will be ON and the CAPS LOCK and
NUM LOCK LEDS will be OFF.
