DESCRIPTION:  Creates a diskette containing the Battery Calibration 
Utility for the models listed above in PRODUCTS AFFECTED.

The battery gauge indicates the charge status of your installed battery 
pack(s). Periodically, the batteries require calibration to improve 
accuracy of the battery gauge, as well as to improve the battery life 
of the packs.  To ensure that the batteries are operating accurately 
and at their best performance levels, Compaq recommends that you 
calibrate your battery pack(s) every two to three months, or whenever 
you notice a decrease in battery life.

To calibrate the battery pack(s), use the Compaq battery utility 
diskette provided by this softpaq.

This version is the initial release of this utility for the models 
listed above.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. For installation instructions, refer to README.TXT on the created 
diskette.
