DESCRIPTION:  This softpaq unpacks the patch of Compaq SCSI Miniport Driver version 2.12.4.0.  This patch is only required when slow performance is seen during tape backup operation using Compaq DLT tape drive with Compaq SCSI driver (Cpq32fs2.sys) in Compaq SSD (Versions 2.10 to 2.12c) for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.

NOTE: DLT Tape firmware version V80 or greater MUST ALSO BE INSTALLED to obtain the optimal speed.  Otherwise, slow performance will persist.

NOTE:NT SSD 2.13A will supercede this driver and will be released at mid June in SmartStart CD 4.30.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your 
hard drive.  The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable 
with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above (sp10196.exe).

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
Enter "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files into the download directory
(SystemRoot\Systems32\Drivers directory). 

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting file 
downloaded in step 1.
