must upgrade the video ROM on a Rage Pro Turbo Graphics Controller with 
upgrade software from one of the following SoftPaqs:

     SP6868 for the Rage Pro Turbo 1X
     SP6869 for the Rage Pro Turbo 2X

DESCRIPTION: This software contains the files necessary to install the Windows
95/98 video driver for the ATI Rage Pro Turbo 1X, 2X, or Rage IIC Graphics 
Controllers. Optionally creates two installation diskettes.

To determine if your model has one of these controllers, go to the Control 
Panel, then select the System icon, the Device Manager tab, and the Display 
adapters icon.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the Softpaq to a directory on your hard drive.  The file 
downloaded is a self-extracting executable with the file name based on the
Softpaq Number above.

2. From the download directory, execute the SoftPaq.  When executed with no 
parameters, files are extracted into new folders that are created in the 
current directory.   To create the folders in a different directory, specify
the complete path of the directory as a parameter when executing the SoftPaq:
   SPXXXX <path>
Enter "Y" to confirm and folders are created in the download directory or 
the directory specified.

3. After the folders disk_01 and disk_02 a have been created, you may
delete the self-exctracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. The driver may be installed directly from the folders in the download 
directory, or two driver installation diskettes can be created.  
To create installation diskettes, run MAKEDISK.BAT.
To read detailed installation and usage instructions, refer to README.TXT.

5. To install the driver, run SETUP.EXE from the first installation diskette
or from directory disk_01 if installing from the hard drive.
For example, select Start, Run, then enter:   <path>\disk_01\setup
   where <path> is the drive and directory chosen in step 2 

6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
