                     INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

 INTRODUCTION:

	Compaq Contura Aero computers as shipped will only enter 
	hibernation when the battery charge is almost depleted.
	There is no user initiated method to cause hibernation 
	to occur.  STBY_HIB allows the user to choose the normal 
	action of standby or to cause the computer to enter 
	hibernation instead of standby.   
	
 HOW TO USE:

	HIBERNATE MUST BE ENABLED in PWRCONW for STBY_HIB.COM to work.
	The user MUST first run the PWRCONW utility (normally found in 
	the Windows "Compaq Utilities" Program Group with a title of 	
	"Power Management & Hibernation") and select the "On" option 
	in the "Hibernation" box.

    	Copy STBY_HIB.COM to any disk directory included in the user's path.  
	The program may be used in an interactive mode by just typing 
	STBY_HIB from a DOS prompt.  The program will tell the user what 
	options are available, how to implement them and what the current 
	state (standby or hibernate) is.  The program can also be run 
	with a command tail of STANDBY or HIBERNATE (or S or H) to bypass 
	the interactive mode.  

	After running this program you will not have to run it again 
	unless you want to change the configuration.
